I'm a student, an artist, a writer, a realist, a rationalist, an RPer, a liberal, a freethinker, and a secular humanist.

I love reading and writing, and I love freeform RPing. I enjoy any of these forms which ask the question 'what does it mean to be human?' and then attempts to answer it. I especially love sci-fi stories which tackle that theme.

I'm a proud Trekkie. Star Trek has been an inspiration for me for as long as I remember. I wanted to be a science officer like Spock. I wanted to command a starship like Captain Janeway. Before I left high school I told them I had been accepted to Starfleet Academy, and they published that in their newsletter. I'm a linguist, and maybe someday, I might get to be a xeno-linguist like Ensign Hoshi Sato.

I'm a huge fan of the reimagined Battlestar Galactica. I like lighter sci-fi like Eureka as well. I'm a huge fan of Dune, and for reasons that really are not reasonable I identify with Alia Atreides. I love the Age of Sail--the Horatio Hornblower novels especially. I also like Pirates of the Caribbean (the first movie, the others I'm either ambivalent or rather antagonistic towards), and Commodore Norrington is the coolest character in it.

I love painting both with brushes and acrylics, and with a mouse in photoshop. I'm a bit of a Jack of All Trades, good with several things, but never a master at any one.
